What is The Best Product for 360 Waves
The Best Product for 360 Waves….
I get this question all the time. People want to know what the best product is for 360 waves,
and honestly the answer is probably not what you're expecting. It's not some fancy pomade.
It's not a serum. It's a brush.
I've been waving for years. I went through the same thing a lot of guys go through — buying
product after product, watching videos, trying different routines — and my waves still weren't
connecting the way I wanted. Forks everywhere. Dry hair. No shine. I had waves but they
weren't what I was going for.
The turning point for me was when I stopped using random products and started making my
own. I built Da Wave Essentials specifically because I couldn't find anything on the market
that actually did what my hair needed. Within three weeks of switching everything up, my
patterns were connecting, the forks were gone, my hair had shine again, and random people
were stopping me to ask what I was doing to my hair. That's when I knew.
Start With the Brush
If you don't have a good brush, nothing else matters. I'm not talking about the brush from the
beauty supply store that costs three dollars. I'm talking about a brush that's actually built for
the wave process. The one I use and recommend is our Long Handle Medium Bristle Brush.
The bristles are firm enough to penetrate the hair and train your curl pattern but won't tear
your hair up. The handle gives you control. It sounds simple but the difference between a real
wave brush and a cheap one is massive.
Most guys who aren't seeing progress aren't brushing enough, aren't brushing in the right
direction, or are brushing with something that isn't doing the job. Fix the brush first.
What My Routine Actually Looks Like
I start with our Strawberry Shortcake Butter. Small amount, rub it between my palms, work it
through my whole head. You want moisture in the hair before you brush, not after. Then I
brush in the direction of my wave pattern. Not randomly. With intention. After that I use the
Laydown Pad to smooth everything down and then tie my durag. That's the routine. It's not complicated. The guys with the best waves aren't doing anything
crazy. They're just consistent.
The Mistakes Most Guys Are Making
Not brushing enough is the number one thing. I've seen guys brush once a day and wonder
why they're not progressing. You need to get your strokes in throughout the day, not just
once. The second thing is not wearing their durag. Every time you take it off and don't put it
back on, you're undoing work. And third is not moisturizing. Dry hair does not wave well. You
need butter or oil in your hair regularly.
The Shampoo Bar People Sleep On
People don't talk enough about washing. The Strawberry Shortcake Shampoo Bar is one of
our best products and I think a lot of guys overlook it. It cleans your hair and scalp, removes
all the product buildup that's been sitting there, and the castor oil and coconut oil we put in it
actually nourish your scalp and add shine back to your waves after the wash. Your scalp
health directly affects how your waves look and feel.
One thing I want to be clear about though. The shampoo bar is not going to give you waves
on its own. Nothing will. You still have to brush during your wash and style. The bar just
makes sure your hair is in the best condition possible so your brushing actually counts.
Butter or Oil?
Honestly it comes down to preference and your hair type. Butter is thicker and gives you more
hold during a brushing session. Oil is lighter and absorbs faster, which works better for guys
who want daily moisture without any heaviness. We carry both. Try them and see what your
hair responds to.
What Separates the Guys with the Deepest Waves
It's not genetics. People love to use genetics as an excuse but I've seen guys with coarse hair
get incredible waves and guys with naturally soft hair who have a mess on their head. What
separates the best waves is consistency with the brush, training the hair in the right pattern
with a comb too, and doing wash and styles regularly. Washing your hair, brushing it out while
it grows, and cutting it back is what deepens the pattern over time. That cycle is everything. If You've Been at This a While and Still Not Seeing It
Don't give up. But also be honest with yourself about whether your method is actually working.
If you've been doing the same thing for months and nothing is changing, the method is the
problem not your hair.
The easiest way to reset is to grab a full kit. Our Beginners Box and our Blackout Bundle are
both built to give you everything you need without having to figure out what works together.
That's what I would have wanted when I was starting out. You get the right brush, the right
products, and a routine that actually makes sense.
Waves aren't impossible. They take consistency and the right tools. Once you have both, it's
just a matter of time.
